He's gay. Only gay celebs contain used the "there's no reason to say" excuse. There's also no way he'd come out right now when his next movie is about him being a straight macho player.

Gay or straight, he doesn't transfer me in any ways. Fake charm, bland looking, without all these pretentious, made up hype he's got no presence, ordinary acting skill nothing spectacular, just pure hype like Jessica Chastain.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, an actor who has never shied away from a gay role or gay-themed project, is interviewed by Brandon Voss for The Advocate.
The star of last year’s terrific sentimental comedy (500) Days of Summer co-stars with Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page in the fresh flick Inception. I interviewed Joseph at the premiere of Stop-Loss in which he co-starred with Ryan Philippe and Channing Tatum but my fondest memory is meeting him at Outfest about five years ago.
It was around the time he had starred in Mysterious Skin and I had no concept who he was (I did not watch 3rd Rock from the Sun) but the guy I was seeing at the period had a petite role in Skin with Joseph and asked me to take a photo of him with the actor.
Anyway, here is a portion of Brandon’s chat with this talented young actor:
When you appeared as Eric’s gay buddy on a 1998 episode of That ’70s Show Let's talk about this intense, seductive look on your face during those masturbation scenes. After playing a gay hustler in "Mysterious Skin," a Mormon homophobe in "Latter Days" and Batman's cool sidekick in "The Obscure Knight Rises," the actor takes on a porn-obsessed womanizer in his latest film "Don Jon," a sex comedy (out Sept. 27) he wrote, directed and stars in that contends there's more to a person than meets the eye.
Surely, plenty of Gordon-Levitt meets the eye in "Don Jon": that chest, those arms and all the near nakedness of the Brand-new Jersey lothario he plays. Yeah, it's easy to notice why people might think he's attractive perfect.
