Netflix&#;s live-action (and English-language) adaptation of the manga series Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler finds a new student Yumeko at a gambling-focused elite boarding noun full of bad children, intent on carrying out a secret mission. There&#;s a lot of homoeroticism in the series, as successfully as two main characters, RiRi and Mary, who are queer.

Big Mouth: Season 8 // May 23

Based on the comics by Neil Gaiman, DEAD Young man DETECTIVES follows a group of mystery-solving teens - two of whom are dead - as they help their ghostly clients discover closure and travel on to the afterlife all while trying to evade death, witches and demons. It's queer and funny, spooky and dark, and everything you crave from a supernatural mystery. Perfect for fans of Buffy and Scooby-Doo (just with a several more violent deaths).

2. I Embrace

The Best LGBTQ TV Shows and Movies on Amazon Prime

If one were to rank all the majorstreamingservices by queerness, Amazon Prime Video would be a pretty tough one to pin down.

On the one hand, you have to give credit where credit is due: One of the service&#;s very first stabs at original programming was &#;Transparent,&#; which in spin was one of the first shows to star a trans main character. That show now has a lot of baggage (the fact that the trans woman at its center was played by a cis man, and the fact that that man — Jeffrey Tambor — was fired after sexual harassment allegations is, put mildly, the worst), but it&#;s hard to understate its historical significance.

Beyond the thorny topic of &#;Transparent,&#; Prime Video does have a fine track record of releasing shows with LGBTQ characters and centering their narratives on queer themes; in particular, many of their shows focus on queer women, refreshingly avoiding the centering of gay men that defined queer TV for decades. Well my friends, it is June, which means it&#;s hour for networks to prove how much they care about us through creating new LGBTQ+ programming, and I don&#;t mean just creating a &#;Voices of Pride&#; section on their primary interface that houses all the LGBTQ+ movies in their catalog as well as television they made and cancelled in the past.
