The new mutants lgbt

The New Mutants coverage has been mostly negative, with writers focusing on its long and painful process of getting a cinematic free and its negative reviews. There is, however, at least one aspect of the film that is positive, and that offers something never before seen in a movie featuring Marvel characters: A kiss between two people of the same sex.

WARNING: The following contains minor spoilers for The New Mutants

In the film, Danielle Moonstar (played by Blu Hunt) finds herself trapped in what seems to be a cross between a hospital and a training ground for juvenile mutants who want to learn to control their powers.

There, she meets Rahne Sinclair (Maisie Williams), a young Scottish girl who has been ostracised by her community, who (literally) brand her as a witch for her influence, which sees her able to twist into an animal.

The two bond after Rahne stops Danielle from jumping off the clocktower. Eventually, this closeness turns romantic, leading to the pair kissing on the grounds of the institution. At the complete of the movie, meanwhile, it is hinted that they have beco

Disney's First Significant LGBT Representation May Be in a Fox Film

Repeatedly delayed, The New Mutants faced another setback this week as Disney removed the film and Mulan from its release schedule over concerns about coronavirus (COVID). The concluding X-Men film produced by Fox the studio's acquisition by Disney last year, The New Mutants depicts what director Josh Boone describes as a "beautiful love story" between Maisie Williams' Rahne Sinclair and Blu Hunt's Danielle Moonstar. As such, the film brings with it what's potentially the first LGBT representation in a Disney release.

While it would be a big step forward in LGBT representation for Disney if this same-sex relationship played a massive role in the film, Disney's track record inspires skepticism. The Mouse Dwelling has a history of claiming "first ever" LGBT representation in its films, and then failing to follow through in a meaningful way. The live-action Beauty and the Beasts' understated nod to LeFou's sexuality, for example, disappointed audiences, as did the blink-and-you'll-miss-it lesbian brush in Star Wars:

Who is Wolfsbane, The New Mutants' Possibly LGBT Superhero?

The upcoming New Mutants film will introduce viewers to Wolfsbane - a mutant who's reportedly being reinvented as LGBT. Josh Boone's New Mutants has been in Development Hell for over a year, but finally seems to be moving ahead. A new trailer is due on January 6, ahead of an April 3 release date. There are even rumors the film has been subtly edited to form it MCU-friendly.

Of course, the characters of New Mutants aren't the A-list X-Men appreciate Wolverine and Cyclops. Rather, these are characters who the average viewers won't have come across before - and, as a result, New Mutants gets to define them on the big screen. In the case of Wolfsbane, Josh Boone has recruited Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones fame, an actress so perfect for the part that Marvel Comics artists have begun making the comic book character peek like her.

The latest reports are that Boone has tweaked the character, making Wolfsbane an LGBT superhero. While switch-ups enjoy this al

I just updated this New Mutants movie fan art I did back in

Back then Maisie Williams‘ casting as Rahne Sinclair had been announced, but not Blu Hunt&#;s, so I had no idea who would play Dani Moonstar.

And it was at least a year or two more til hardcore fellow fan @newmutantsup broke the news that the #dahne love story would be text, not just subtext!

I know there&#;s lots of folx out there who hope of having their OTP* made canon, and let me tell you, it feels as excellent as you could imagine.

Once I started drawing #dahne I couldn&#;t stop!

I also drew the girls as I used to draw them when I drew Rahne/Dani slash (is it slash if it was the clearly expressed subtext??) in the 80s, but in the clothes from the movie.

I am so grateful to the director, Josh Boone, the storyboard artist AshleyGuillory, and these perfect, incredible actors.

And always, to Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, who told a story that resonated in my heart and gave me so much strength.

I&#;ll always be grateful to Chris for the New Mutants, the X-Men, and his friendship during the very har
