In their words we look at the per capita queerness of some less expected locales. So, while no one nationally necessarily thinks first of these towns as gay friendly, they crave to suggest some unexpected, smaller cities which are just that. Knoxville came in at number eight.

In the international LGBTQ Magazine The Advocate listed Knoxville as the 8th Gayest Town in America during its countdown of places to dwell or visit in the USA. While the criteria used to generate this list was viewed as pretty shaky (number of nude yoga studios & WNBA teams per capita?) and the general public both in and out of East Tennessee laughed off the declaration that Knoxville was a Queer Friendly place to live and attend, I am here to tell you that this mid-sized city is actually a pretty superb place for LGBTQ+ people to attend and call house.
