  Mod Hermy of the Pride-Flags Deviantart here: I just found out during my hiatus from this blog that there’s been a lot of discourse surrounding this flag that I helped make.

  APPARENTLY some truscum/transmed took this flag and reuploaded it (that got k notes vs the 9 notes my original post has), wording it in a way that made people think it was made by them (and also "official"). Also, it seems like it's been co-opted by truscum and transphobes to exclude trans and nonbinary gay men.

  I am beyond pissed off at this, especially since I don’t remember anyone telling me it was stolen.

  buckle up.

  in , someone messaged a pride flag tumblr account (ask-pride-color-schemes) about what the gay/mlm flag could be. they suggested since the lesbian flag (at the time) was the lipstick lesbian flag without the lips, maybe the gay flag could be the bear flag without the paw.

  another suggestion was to use the similar set up as the lipstick lesbian flag (seven stripes with white in the middle).

  the pride flag account pointed out that the colors of the bear flag might be too associated with bears for that to operate, and that purple/blue in that arrange up was already being used as a butch lesbian flag, so they made a green/blue one instead.

  in , someone (gayflagblog) decided to modify the flag that ask-pride-color-schemes made in order to address some of the issues people had with it, such as no meanings being attributed to it, and the assumption that it was just "lesbian flag but navy for boys".
