    Unifor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (2SLGBTQI+) activists and allies will be hitting the streets this year for Toronto’s Pride.

    Our union celebrates the diversity of and continues to advocate for the rights of all 2SLGBTQI+ peoples. However, this celebration and advocacy work is set against a backdrop of a disturbing trend of increasingly violent and hateful acts targeting trans and queer people. With loathing on the increase, it has never been clearer that 2SLGBTQI issues are union issues.

    This year’s pride parade is an important moment to come together as a union to extend our solidarity.

    There are a lot of events happening, but we want to support you to verb Unifor 2SLGBTQI+ members and allies at the following three events on June 23, 24 &

    There are countless ways to celebrate Toronto Pride! The party begins on June 2 with Royal Teafeaturing drag superstars from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK strutting their stuff at this ticketed event. Krystal Versace, Victoria Scone, Black Peppa and more gorgeous queens bring a one-of-a-kind party to Queen Elizabeth Theatre on the Exhibition grounds. Hot tip: Skip the traffic and parking hassles and party safely with easy access via GO Transit to Exhibition GO Station from UP Show Union Station, just one quick halt away from the venue.

    It’s the month of June and that means Toronto Pride is well underway! The city is alive with rainbow colours, love and excitement for four amazing weeks of incredible programming to celebrate the LGBTQ2S+ community.

    What is Pride Toronto?

    Every year, during the month of June, the metropolis of Toronto hosts Pride, an annual event to celebrate the LGBTQ2S+ community. As one of the largest gay pride festivals in existence, Pride Toronto is a festival featuring live performances, DJs, Dyke March, Trans March and the renowned Pride Parade that makes its way down Yonge Street. Estimates range from , to 1 million people that attend the Pride events during the month of June, with over , attending the Pride Parade alone. Pride is more than a festival, it’s an opportunity for communities and allies to come together and learn, support, and celebrate the achievements and diversity of the LGBTQ2S+ community!
